Our practice advises domestic and international companies active in electricity, oil and gas, renewable energy, and natural resources. CHEVEZ integrates legal, economic, regulatory, and tax perspectives to address projects and operations subject to complex and continually evolving regulatory frameworks, both in Mexico and in cross-border contexts.

We support clients in negotiating power purchase agreements; obtaining, reviewing, and defending permits, authorizations, and concessions; and complying with obligations before authorities such as the Ministry of Energy (Secretaría de Energía) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (Comisión Reguladora de Energía). We also advise on imports and exports of fuels and natural gas, renewable projects, water and mining matters, environmental taxes, and social and environmental impact assessments. Our practice includes consulting, contractual analysis, and administrative, tax, and constitutional litigation, including amparo proceedings and defenses against regulatory measures, sanctions, and disputes involving volumetric controls, water, mining, and environmental taxation.
