Sergio is an Associate at CHEVEZ, where he began his professional career in 2014 in the Tax Litigation and Tax Controversy practice group. His practice focuses on the strategic representation of domestic and international companies in tax litigation, constitutional relief proceedings (amparo), tax audits, and negotiation processes before tax authorities. He currently advises high-profile clients in the automotive, consumer, energy, and technology industries, providing comprehensive solutions in both domestic controversies and international tax matters.
His career also includes international experience in the financial sector, serving from 2022 to 2023 as an Associate at Morgan Stanley, where he was part of the Global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Risks team. In this role, he participated in regulatory compliance and risk assessment projects for global institutional clients on Wall Street, developing a multidisciplinary perspective in regulatory compliance and financial risk management within a global corporate and financial environment.
Sergio earned his Law degree from Universidad Panamericana in 2017, graduating cum laude. Subsequently, from 2021 to 2022, he completed an MBA at Hult International Business School in Boston, Massachusetts, with a specialization in Accounting and Finance. This combination of legal and business education enables him to provide clients with a strategic approach that integrates legal, financial, and commercial considerations in resolving complex tax controversies.
