Rodrigo Farías advises multinational companies on some of the most complex challenges related to local taxes and contributions, environmental taxation, and administrative regulation in Mexico. With more than 20 years of experience, his practice focuses on the design and implementation of consulting, audit, and constitutional and administrative litigation strategies involving state and municipal taxes, as well as administrative proceedings before local and federal authorities.
Throughout his career, he has represented leading companies across a wide range of industries in tax audits, complex litigation, and regulatory matters, helping them manage tax risks and comply with their tax obligations.
He has extensive experience and is recognized as one of Mexico’s leading specialists in environmental taxes and environmental taxation, participating in tax audits and disputes involving environmental levies across various Mexican states. He has also advised and represented digital economy companies, including technology platforms and transportation network companies, on matters related to local taxes, regulatory compliance, and the strategic defense of their business models.
His experience combines deep technical knowledge of local tax legislation with a practical business perspective, enabling him to develop innovative solutions for organizations with complex operations and a presence across multiple jurisdictions in Mexico.
In addition to his professional practice, he has been actively involved in academia as a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where he taught the Mexican Tax Regime course. He is also the author of several specialized articles published in national journals.
Rodrigo joined CHEVEZ in 2006 and was appointed Partner in 2020.
