María De Jesús Castro

María joined Chevez in 2013 and is currently an Associate in the Tax Advisory practice. She focuses her practice on providing tax advice to domestic and international companies, as well as on wealth planning matters.

Throughout her career at the Firm, she has been involved in the restructuring of multinational groups, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), federal tax refund claims, tax audits conducted by the Mexican tax authorities, and conclusive agreement procedures. She has also served as an accounting expert witness in the preparation of expert reports.

She has also provided specialized advice to nonprofit organizations, assisting them in obtaining and maintaining authorization to receive tax-deductible donations, as well as supporting the reinstatement of such authorization when it has been revoked by the tax authorities.

In addition, María plays an active role in the planning, coordination, and execution of Law Rocks Mexico, an annual international event that brings together legal professionals to foster networking while supporting charitable and pro bono causes through music.

María has participated in every edition of Law Rocks Mexico since its launch in 2023, contributing to the strengthening of the Firm's relationships with colleagues, members of the legal community, and the various foundations involved in the event. She is also a member of the Firm's band, which won the competition in the 2024 and 2025 editions, reflecting the commitment, talent, and collaborative spirit that distinguish its members.
