José María García

José María García joined CHEVEZ in January 2010. His practice has primarily focused on advising and representing clients in matters related to international trade, customs, and supply chain, including issues involving the application of Mexico’s Free Trade Agreements and World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreements.

His practice also focuses on advising clients in administrative proceedings before the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT), the Ministry of Economy, and other federal government authorities in customs and international trade matters, including the application for and administration of various government programs and certifications that benefit his clients.

In addition, as part of his professional practice, he has participated in proceedings involving unfair international trade practices and in petitions before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.

He has served as a panelist, speaker, and lecturer at various national and international forums, including the National Congress of the Mexican Bar Association (BMA), the International Chamber of Commerce Mexico (ICC Mexico), the Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee of the Franco-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFM), and the International Tax Institute of Georgetown Law’s Tax Program.
