Jose Luis Fernández

José Luis has more than 40 years of experience on tax advisory services and corporate matters, advising companies listed on both the Mexican Stock Exchange and U.S. stock exchanges. Throughout his career, he has served and continues to serve on the boards of directors of several public companies, as well as on their Audit and Corporate Practices Committees. In addition, he has extensive experience providing tax and wealth planning advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

Given his passion for academia, he has taught taxation at Universidad Anáhuac Norte, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA). He is also the author of numerous articles on tax matters published in leading accounting and tax publications.

José Luis Fernández joined CHEVEZ at its inception in September 1981. He was admitted as a Partner in 1989 and served as the Firm’s Managing Partner from 2007 to 2024.
